The Province (Vancouver) reports two Vancouver radio stations have reported Kansas City Chiefs QB Casey Printers will be among the Chiefs' final roster cuts, which must be made no later than Saturday, Sept. 2. However, there remains the strong chance Printers will be asked to join the club's practice squad. CKNW reported in that event, Printers will accept the assignment and not look for another NFL team.

Printers will battle Chiefs third-round draft pick QB Brodie Croyle in an effort to be named the franchise's quarterback of the future. Printers' greatest asset is his ability to make plays on the run. He will have to prove he can be a successful pocket-passer as well to fit into the team's system. "There were games where he stood in the pocket and threw the football," his former coach, Wally Buono, said. "There were other games where he made his athleticism a big part of what he did. Obviously, his athleticism is his strength. But he can stay in the pocket, read the defense and make the good throw."

The Kansas City Chiefs have announced the team has agreed to terms with CFL QB Casey Printers (B.C. Lions) on a three-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. "I sat down with (Chiefs head coach) Herm (Edwards) and looked at the workout tape and he, too, was pleased with what he saw," Chiefs president Carl Peterson said. "I think the obvious is we are in need of a younger backup quarterback in the Chiefs organization."

The Miami Herald reports the Miami Dolphins are awaiting permission from the NFL and CFL to bring in BC Lions QB Casey Printers for a workout.
