The Seattle Times reports Seattle Seahawks DT Luis Almanzar impressed the coaching staff with his play in the team's preseason game Saturday, Aug. 9. Almanzar made four tackles against San Diego, with two coming on back-to-back plays. Almanzar also recorded a sack.

Seattle Seahawks DT Luis Almanzar, allocated to the NFL Europe's Frankfurt Galaxy, had two solo stops and one sack in World Bowl XI, according to Seahawks.com. Almanzar posted three sacks during the regular season.

The Seattle Seahawks have announced the signing of free agent DT Luis Almanzar. Almanzar played collegiately at Southwest Missouri and will join the Seahawks roster in February after the 2002 season officially ends.

Jim Thomas of the Post-Dispatch reports the St. Louis Rams have signed street free agent LB Brian Williams and DE Luis Almanzar. Williams was in Jacksonville's training camp last year. Almanzar was with the Steelers in training camp 2001.
