Sean Leahy, of USA Today, reports former NFL QB Jeff George said he would like to make a return to the National Football League. "I feel like I can still play, and if there's someone out there to give me a shot, that would be wonderful," George said to IlliniHQ.com. "You look throughout the league, you see 20 teams that need quarterbacks – 20 teams need starters – and probably everybody needs a backup. In my opinion, there's just not a lot of quality quarterbacks out there these days."

Sean Jensen, of the Pioneer Press, reports QB Jeff George, who last played in an NFL game in 2001, is interested in returning to the league for the Minnesota Vikings. "I know they're banged up," said George. "But with a running back like Adrian Peterson, I would be licking my chops. With that running back, you need someone who can throw that deep ball, and I know I still can. I don't care about the talent at receiver."

Don Pierson, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears general manager Jerry Angelo said QB Jeff George, who spent a brief time with the club late last season, will be an emergency option as a backup quarterback should the team strike out in the free agent market. George is currently an unrestricted free agent.
