OT Matt Kalil (hip) was limited during practice and is listed as questionable. C Nick Easton (ankle), TE Rhett Ellison (knee), WR Charles Johnson (quadriceps), LB Eric Kendricks (ankle), RB Jerick McKinnon (foot, leg) and TE Kyle Rudolph (knee) fully participated in practice and are not on the injury report.

Vikings | Three more Vikings have full practice

Thu, 15 Sep 2016 14:53:25 -0700

Minnesota Vikings RB Jerick McKinnon (foot, fibula), WR Charles Johnson (quadriceps) and TE Kyle Rudolph (knee) were full participants in practice Thursday, Sept. 15.

Fantasy Tip: McKinnon needs to continue to warm the bench on fantasy rosters. Rudolph is a sneaky sleeper play as Bradford could look for a safety valve and more high percentage throws in his first start with his new team. Johnson was practically a no show last week and should not be started.

Vikings | Charles Johnson on the field

Wed, 14 Sep 2016 15:06:18 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Charles Johnson (quadriceps) fully participated in practice Wednesday, Sept. 14.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson was targeted six times in Week 1 but finished the game with one catch for five yards. It appears like he will be able to play in Week 2 but will not be a strong fantasy option.

Vikings | Charles Johnson to play

Sun, 11 Sep 2016 09:36:13 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Charles Johnson (quadriceps) is officially active for the team's Week 1 game.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson will be one of the starting receivers for the Vikings in Week 1 but may not receive a lot of targets since the team is starting Shaun Hill at quarterback. Owners in most leagues should avoid Johnson this week.

Vikings | Charles Johnson limited

Wed, 07 Sep 2016 16:54:52 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Charles Johnson (quadriceps) was limited during practice Wednesday, Sept. 7.

Fantasy Tip: Owners will need to keep an eye on the situation because Johnson is listed as one of the starting wide receivers. He had a solid preseason and should receive a decent amount of targets this season. Owners may want to look for other options to use in Week 1 because of Johnson's injury.

Vikings | Laquon Treadwell still second-teamer

Tue, 06 Sep 2016 09:10:16 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Laquon Treadwell was listed as a backup to WR Charles Johnson on the team's most recent depth chart released on Tuesday, Sept. 6.

Fantasy Tip: This isn't exactly breaking news to anyone who has been following Vikings' camp, but it is still notable because Treadwell is consistently selected well ahead of Johnson in fantasy drafts. With that said, it is only a matter of time before the No. 23 overall pick overtakes Johnson; owners need only look to Stefon Diggs last year as inspiration for a rookie going from little-used backup to a starter. Still, in Minnesota's run-oriented offense, Treadwell isn't much more than a high-upside WR5.

Vikings | Charles Johnson unable to practice

Mon, 05 Sep 2016 20:25:47 -0700

Minnesota Vikings WR Charles Johnson (undisclosed) miss practice Monday, Sept. 5, due to an undisclosed injury.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson is expected to serve as one of the team's Top 3 receivers with Stefon Diggs ascending to the top spot on the depth chart and Laquon Treadwell also in the mix for targets. Johnson should be treated more as a WR5 in most fantasy formats heading into Week 1.
