Paul Sheehy, of ProStar Sports Agency, has confirmed to KFFL that free agent WR Derick Armstrong (Texans) has signed with the CFL's Winnipeg Blue Bombers. He hopes to return to the NFL in 2007.

John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans WR Derick Armstrong is competing for the No. 4 or No. 5 receiver spot during camp, and will likely need to demonstrate strong special teams play in order to make the team. "He's in a battle for that fourth or fifth spot," Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said. "Receivers in those spots better be able to do something on special teams. The pressure's on him to really step up."
