NFL | Cris Carter admits to bounties

Wed, 09 May 2012 04:55:53 -0700

Former NFL WR Cris Carter said he put "bounties" on opposing players as a form of protection during his career. Carter said that he would offer money to teammates to take out players he thought were trying to take him out. "I'm guilty of (bounties) - I mean, first time I've ever admitted it - but I put a bounty on guys before," Carter said. "I put bounties on guys. If a guy tries to take me out, a guy takes a cheap shot on me? I put a bounty on him right now!"

NFL | Cris Carter wonders if Randy Moss will quit

Tue, 14 Feb 2012 08:24:10 -0800

ESPN analyst Cris Carter, a former teammate of retired WR Randy Moss with the Minnesota Vikings, said he has no doubts Moss would arrive to a team in great shape. Carter also believes Moss still has blazing speed. However, Carter wonders whether Moss would quit on a team if things do not go his way. "The one thing you have to address with Randy Moss is not a conditioning thing," Carter said. "It's not an age thing. It needs to be addressed. I believe it's the elephant in the room. It's that thing called quit. And Randy, not like any other superstar I've met, he has more quit in him than any of those other players ... Randy, when things don't go well, like no other player I've ever been around or associated with, he has a quit mechanism in him that's huge. That needs to be addressed before he signs with any team."

Mike Duffy, of BaltimoreRavens.com, reports Baltimore Ravens WR Derrick Mason surpassed 10,000 receiving yards in his career during the team's Week 17 game. "It feels great. Not too many people get to 10,000 yards, not even many greats. You put yourself in an elite class when you eclipse 10,000 yards. [Former NFL WR Jerry Rice], [Indianapolis Colts Marvin Harrison], [former NFL Cris Carter], people like that. You put yourself in a class that not too many are in right now," Mason said.

Falcons | Vick discusses Week 6, offensive philosophy

Fri, 20 Oct 2006 09:05:46 -0700

Steve Wyche, of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Vick told HBO's Cris Carter during an interview on Inside the NFL that after his Week 6 performance in which he was sacked a career-high seven times, "It's the worst I ever felt." Vick also discussed the team's offensive philosophy. "You've got to throw the ball sometimes," Vick said. You can't just line up and run the ball every time on first and second down. Teams key in on that and they have coaches, too. We're going to have to throw it more. Coach [Jim Mora] is going have to trust in me to get it done and I'm up to the challenge to get it done." Vick cited his time under former head coach Dan Reeves as evidence of his passing skills. "When Reeves was here, I was 50 yards shy of 3,000 yards passing, and I was among top 15 in passing in NFL. Coach Reeves, he believed in me and gave me a chance to throw the football."
