The New York Daily News reports New York Jets rookie RB LaMont Jordan (bruised ribs) and rookie DT James Reed (pinched nerve/neck) both practiced with the team on Saturday. LB Courtney Ledyard (bruised shin) remained out of practice. PR/RB Chad Morton missed practice so he could go to New Orleans to retrieve his personal belongings. The Jets have no practices scheduled for today.

The Star-Ledger reports New York Jets FB Richie Anderson (knee), LB James Darling (knee), WR Matthew Hatchette (ankle), LB Courtney Ledyard (shin), G Randy Thomas (groin) and DE Eric Ogbogu (ribs) aren't expected to play in tonight's pre-season game against the Giants.

The New York Post reports New York Jets RG Randy Thomas (groin) returned to practice and vowed to play tomorrow night against the Giants. LBs James Darling (knee) and Courtney Ledyard (shin) didn't practice and probably won’t play against the Giants.

The Associated Press reports New York Jets WRs Wayne Chrebet (knee contusion) and Matthew Hatchette (sprained left ankle) did not practice Wednesday. Also sitting out was FB Richie Anderson (knee strain). Coach Herman Edwards wasn't sure if they would play Saturday, but he said the injuries were minor. He added they would have played in a regular-season game. Two other injured players are expected to miss this weekend's game after missing practice today, LBs James Darling (strained left knee) and Courtney Ledyard (bruised left shin).

The New York Jets have re-signed exclusive-rights free agents DT Maurice Anderson to a one-year, $298,000 deal; RB Marlion Jackson to a one-year, $298,000 deal; LB Courtney Ledyard to a one-year, $298,000 deal; OL J.P. Machado to a one-year, $392,000 deal and TE Jake Moreland to a one-year, $298,000 deal. LB James Darling (Eagles) will have a base salary of $448,000 in 2001 and $477,000 in 2002.
