Kevin Seifert, of the Star Tribune, reports Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress said the team is keeping contact with the agent for free agent OL Steve Neal (Patriots), who visited with the Vikings last week.

Kamon Simpson reports for The Gazette the Denver Broncos are giving weekend tryouts to veteran OL K.C. Jones, WR Corey Brown (formerly of Atlanta) and WR Steve Neal (formerly of the Titans). They join the previously reported QB Nick Rolovich of Hawaii as tryout players.

The team's official site reports the Tennessee Titans have released PK/P Jason Witczak, DL Donovan Arp, OL Chris Valletta, WR Marshaun Tucker, RB Rafael Cooper, WR Steve Neal and QB Chris Sanders. They also placed rookie OT Adam Haayer (knee) on the injured reserve list.

Paul Kenyon reports for the Providence Journal the New England Patriots plan to move DL Steve Neal to the offensive line. Coach Bill Belichick is impressed with both his athleticism and willingness to learn. "He has skills that you could find on either side of the ball," coach Bill Belichick said. Right now, the Patriots need offensive linemen more than defensive linemen.
