Tampa Bay Rays C Jose Molina (hamstring) left the game Saturday, May 18, against the Baltimore Orioles due to a tight hamstring. However, Molina said he was "okay" after the game, and manager Joe Maddon said Molina could play Sunday, May 19.

Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon plans to monitor the playing time of C Jose Molina this year, and he's targeting 80 games for the catcher. Maddon wants to avoid having Molina catch more than three games in a row. C Jose Lobaton is the backup catcher.

Fantasy Tip: Molina is only considered useful in very deep AL-only leagues or deep two-catcher formats.

Tampa Bay Rays C Jose Molina has slimmed down this offseason, as he started his workouts early knowing he would be playing for Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic. He was listed at 6-foot-2, 250 pounds last season.

Tampa Bay Rays RP Joel Peralta (Dominican Republic), C Jose Molina (Puerto Rico) and INF Leonardo Reginatto (Brazil) will all play in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Molina will serve as the backup to St. Louis Cardinals C Yadier Molina.
