Cardinals | May consider Jose Molina

Fri, 11 Jul 2014 05:45:28 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays C Jose Molina may be an option for the St. Louis Cardinals to replace C Yadier Molina (thumb), in the opinion of ESPN's Buster Olney, who believes the Rays will listen to a trade offer.

Fantasy Tip: Molina would only be valuable as a league crossover commodity for NL-only players. He has done little at the plate, as usual.

Rays | May be even split at C

Mon, 10 Mar 2014 15:52:21 -0700

Tampa Bay Rays Cs Ryan Hanigan and Jose Molina might end up with an even split of playing time this season, as both catchers are great defensively but are question marks with the bat.

Fantasy Tip: Neither catcher is very intriguing as a backup catcher in an AL-only league, but Hanigan probably has slightly more upside with the stick. However, if playing time is split evenly, neither is probably worth a selection.
