Watters believes he should be paid above the league minimum, and is not willing to compromise. “People might think he’s bluffing, but believe me, he isn’t,” his agent Ralph Cindrich said. “He feels he has a value beyond the minimum. If that’s all teams are going to offer him, he’s going to sit, and that will be it. Ricky will be retired and he is at peace with that.”

Rowe reports for the Mobile Register New Orleans Saints GM Randy Mueller told the paper he would like to add free agent RB Ricky Watters (Seahawks) to his roster, as long as the asking price isn't too high. "We like Ricky," Mueller said, "but only if the price is right. We will more than likely draft a back in this year's draft at some point to back up Deuce (McAllister) if we can't work out something with Watters. We're not done yet in free agency, so we will see how it all shakes out."
Mon, 25 Mar 2002 20:04:31 -0800 The Washington Post reports the Washington Redskins could turn their attention to free agent RBs Dorsey Levens (Packers) and Ricky Watters (Seahawks), if they can't get backup RB Ki-Jana Carter re-signed soon.

The Bucs are expected to have an announcement after they iron out final contract details with Pittman's agent, Kendall Kremer. Coach Jon Gruden said Pittman's hard running style and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield makes him a good fit. Levens apparently still trails Watters on the team's wish list.

"There are a number of backs that could become scenarios in our contingency plan,'' Gruden said. The Bucs have all but abandoned any thoughts, at least for now, of cutting or trading RB Mike Alstott. Thu, 06 Dec 2001 06:59:02 -0800 The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports although a decision on his playing status for Sunday won't be reached until later in the week, Seattle Seahawks RB Ricky Watters looked good as he returned to practice yesterday.
