Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Kenny Watson is the early favorite for the No. 3 running back position behind RBs Rudi Johnson and rookie Chris Perry this season. Watson will face competition from RBs Skip Hicks and Herbert Goodman in training camp.

Updating an earlier report, Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Skip Hicks practiced Tuesday, June 15, after returning from a stint in NFL Europe. Hicks said he is ready to compete for a roster spot on a team with four other running backs on the current roster. "If I thought I was a long-shot, I wouldn't be here," Hicks said. "I didn't come here to hope to make the team. I came here to make the team."

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Skip Hicks was named NFL Europe's Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season. Hicks, who plays for the Frankfurt Galaxy, gained 123 yards on 16 carries and scored two touchdowns in a 27-24 win over the Scottish Claymores on Sunday, May 16. Hicks leads NFL Europe with 9 total touchdowns and 458 yards rushing on 121 carries.

Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports Cincinnati Bengals RB Skip Hicks has been named NFL Europe Offensive Player of the Week for April 24-25. During the Frankfurt Galaxy's 21-17 overtime loss to the Amsterdam Admirals in Week 4, Hicks gained a league-high 212 yards from scrimmage, caring the ball 23 times for 74 yards in addition to making seven receptions for 138 yards. He also recorded a 71-yard touchdown reception, giving him a league-high six touchdowns on the year.
