Mets | Daniel Murphy will play at 2B

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:43:07 -0700

New York Mets 2B Daniel Murphy will start at second base against San Diego Padres SP James Shields Tuesday, July 28, and is batting second in the lineup. 2B Kelly Johnson is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Murphy ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) could see more time at second base with the team acquiring Juan Uribe. He has at least one hit in eight of his last nine hits with five RBI during that span. Owners on FantasyScore could consider using him because of his production.

New York Mets OF Kelly Johnson will start at second base against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Zack Greinke Sunday, July 26, and is batting fourth in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: It appears Johnson ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has a chance to be the starting second baseman for the time being. He is hitting .314 with four home runs and 13 RBI this month and could be a solid starting option on FantasyScore.

Mets | Kelly Johnson batting cleanup

Sat, 25 Jul 2015 12:27:42 -0700

New York Mets 2B Kelly Johnson will bat cleanup against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Zach Lee Saturday, July 25.

Fantasy Tip: Johnson ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) is batting .311 this month with a double, three home runs and 12 RBIs, although he is just 1-for-8 over the past week. Since this is his first game with the Mets, FantasyScore owners may want to see how he adjusts to his new surroundings before using him in their lineups.

Mets | Juan Uribe, Kelly Johnson join Mets

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 16:11:03 -0700

Updating a previous report, the New York Mets have acquired 3B Juan Uribe and OF Kelly Johnson from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for SPs John Gant and Robert Whalen Friday, July 24.

Fantasy Tip: Uribe ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) will receive everyday at-bats at third base while David Wright ($3,400, 6.8% of cap) it out, though Wright has no timeline for a return. Uribe is a low-end option in deep mixed leagues. Similarly, Johnson ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) doesn't tip the scales outside deep formats. He will likely bounce around the diamond a bit but figures to see the majority of time in the outfield and spelling Lucas Duda ($4,200, 8.4% of cap) at first base. Rookie Michael Conforto's fantasy stock suddenly looks a lot glimmer. Stay tuned for updates on what the plans are.

Mets | NYM after Juan Uribe and Kelly Johnson

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 16:01:32 -0700

Atlanta Braves 3B Juan Uribe and OF Kelly Johnson are close to being traded to the New York Mets, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: The Mets have holes up and down their lineup, and while neither Uribe ($2,800, 5.6% of cap) and Johnson ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) are flashy fantasy producers, there could be so low-end value in deep mixed leagues. Stay tuned, but there is no reason to rush to the waiver wire to check on the availability of Uribe and Johnson.

Wed, 22 Jul 2015 07:04:30 -0700

Atlanta Braves OF Kelly Johnson (illness) returned to the lineup Wednesday, July 22, and is hitting cleanup.

Fantasy Tip: KJ ($4,300, 8.6% of cap) has a decent matchup against Mike Bolsinger and has a .317-3-12 line this month. He's a decent midrange option on FantasyScore.

Braves | No Kelly Johnson vs. Dodgers

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 15:17:36 -0700

Updating a previous report, Atlanta Braves OF Kelly Johnson (illness) is not in the starting lineup Monday, July 20. 1B Joey Terdoslavich is starting at first base and batting sixth against Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brandon Beachy Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Make sure to avoid Johnson ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) in all fantasy formats Monday, as he is suffering from flu-like symptoms. Terdoslavich ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) should be viewed as nothing more than a desperation source of cap relief by FantasyScore players Monday.

Braves | Kelly Johnson battling flu-like symptoms

Mon, 20 Jul 2015 13:25:12 -0700

Atlanta Braves 2B Kelly Johnson (illness) is experiencing flu-like symptoms, and will only play Monday, July 20, if he is fine after going through batting practice. Atlanta faces Los Angeles Dodgers SP Brandon Beachy Monday.

Fantasy Tip: Don't be shocked to see Johnson ($3,500, 7.0% of cap) out of the lineup Monday, and with him unlikely to be playing at 100%, he isn't an ideal FantasyScore play. Check back for an official update.
