"Terry gives us a veteran that we know we can depend on," said Saints GM Mickey Loomis. "He's a leader and he proved last year with Baltimore that he can still create yardage and be a consistent starter when called upon. Terry has seen it all during his time in the NFL, so he can be positive influence on Deuce as well."

The Advocate reports the New Orleans Saints search for a veteran, backup RB continues. Although free agent RB Terry Allen visited earlier last week, he was not signed. At this point, they probably won't intensify the search until just before the start of training camp. "We're still looking," coach Jim Haslett said. "I don't think we're comfortable yet. Most of our young guys have been hurt the whole off-season, so we really haven't had a chance to look at them. We're going to keep our eyes open."

Updating an earlier story, Jeff Duncan reports for the Times Picayune the New Orleans Saints plan to bring in free agent Terry Allen (Ravens) for a visit Monday. They also had a visit planned for Ki-Jana Carter, but he signed with Green Bay last week. "We just want to take a look at them and see if they can help us," Saints coach Jim Haslett said. "We'd like to add a veteran running back before training camp, if it's possible." The team reportedly has discussed a deal for Buffalo RB Shawn Bryson. The asking price for Bryson is believed to be a third-round draft pick.

Allen, 33, said he's getting tired of people talking about his age. Teammate Jason Brookins chimed in that Allen won't retire. Allen, coming off of back-to-back 100-yard games will be part of the Ravens' RB by committee attack again this weekend against the Steelers.

The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Ravens' RB Moe Williams' overall numbers looked a lot better than most of the game's production did. Williams managed just 23 yards on his first 16 carries and also lost a fumble. Williams later had a 55-yard run, which was the longest of his career. He also added a 22-yard run on the team's final drive that led to a game-winning TD pass. Williams finished the game with 111 yards on 24 carries, both career highs. If the BYE week allows RB Terry Allen (broken hand) to return from injury, Williams could be bounced back down the depth chart.

The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick does not currently plan to add a free agent RB to his roster, despite losing RB Terry Allen (hand) for anywhere from three games to the rest of the season. Billick has decided to stay put with RBs Jason Brookins, Obafemi Ayanbadejo and Moe Williams as his RBs. Allen has missed two other games so the team has experience in adjusting without him. The Ravens will continue to split carries between Ayanbadejo and Brookins and now Williams is expected to see spot duty too.

As an update to an ongoing story line, Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick said the team would have to wait and see on RB Terry Allen's (broken hand) status for the remainder of the season. Billick said he'll have to find out how long Allen will be out and how the doctors plan to fix Allen's injury. As of right now, Allen could possibly miss four games of action but more will be known after his hand is repaired. Billick said RB Moe Williams, who was inactive for last night's game, would have to step in and be part of the RB rotation.

The Boston Herald reports New England Patriots RB Antowain Smith finally gave the Patriots a 100-yard rusher during a game. He ran for 117 yards on 23 carries against the Falcons on Sunday, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. The last time the Patriots had a 100-yard rusher was in 1999, when Terry Allen ran for over 100-yards in the final game of the season. Smith said the team wanted to establish a strong running game early to take pressure off QB Tom Brady.

The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick indicated he wants to continue to see RB Jason Brookins receive more carries. "The more Jason continues to play well and can stay focused, the more he will play," Billick said. "He did some very good things. He did a couple of things that we can't have happen. So, that's going to be his challenge." The Ravens will continue to hand the ball off to Terry Allen for most of the game, with Brookins alternating in for entire series at a time. Billick said Brookins ran the wrong way twice and made a mistake in pass protection that led to Grbac getting hit.
