Royals | Jeremy Guthrie continues to win

Fri, 10 May 2013 10:24:41 -0700

Kansas City Royals SP Jeremy Guthrie gave up one earned run against his former team, the Baltimore Orioles, Thursday, May 9, and he's 10-0 since Aug. 8 of last season. He has gone a franchise-record 18 straight starts without losing a game. Guthrie gave up seven hits and walked three to lower his ERA this year to 2.82. It was his first time in three games that he allowed a run.

Fantasy Tip: It's safe to say that Guthrie enjoys playing for KC, and the drop in homer allowance has been beneficial to his ERA after pitching at Coors Field. He's not a re-invented pitcher, however; he won't strike out a ton of hitters, but he's useful at the back end of your fantasy rotation in deep mixed leagues.
