Rays | Most of coaching staff to return

The Sports Network reports Tampa Bay Rays bench coach Dave Martinez, third base coach Tom Foley, first base coach George Hendrick, bullpen coach Bobby Ramos and pitching coach Jim Hickey will all return to the team next year. Hitting coach Steve Henderson's contract will not be renewed. Also, quality assurance coach Todd Greene's position will be discontinued.

Updating previous reports, San Diego Padres C Todd Greene (shoulder) left the team, Saturday, Feb. 24, to return to Atlanta. He is expected to return in a week, when he will be examined again, according to Alan Eskew, for Sandiego.Padres.MLB.com.

The North County Times' Dan Hayes reports San Diego Padres C Todd Greene (shoulder) is expected to miss the remainder of spring training after dislocating his right shoulder while participating in a throwing drill Wednesday, Feb. 21. He was due to get an MRI exam Thursday, Feb. 22. The injury has hampered his chances of making the team's Opening Day roster as a third catcher and right-handed bat off the bench.
