The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans QB Steve McNair passed former Denver Broncos QB John Elway on the NFL's all-time rushing list for quarterbacks. McNair (3,418 yards) is now fourth behind former QBs Randall Cunningham (4,928), Steve Young (4,239) and Fran Tarkenton (3,674).

Greg Beacham, of the Associated Press, reports retired WR Jerry Rice will compete against regular people in a new reality show for Spike TV. The show, "Pros vs. Joes," will air in ten, one-hour shows starting in April. Other retired NFL players set to be on the show are QB Randall Cunningham, RB Herschel Walker, RB Tony Dorsett, and QB Jim McMahon. Retired NBA stars Karl Malone and Dominique Wilkins will join the 19 former professional athletes on the show.

Bob Kent reports for PhiladelphiaEagles.com the Philadelphia Eagles have signed QB Randall Cunningham. He has signed with the team so he can retire an Eagle. "Randall was a big part of Eagles history, at least in the modern era of Eagles football," said head coach and executive VP of football operations Andy Reid. Cunningham will be honored before the pre-season game next Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens.

PhiladelphiaEagles.com reports Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie addressed an issue that has been a topic of interest since late June, the retirement of QB Randall Cunningham as a member of the Eagles. Cunningham indicated he wanted to retire as an Eagle. The organization, in its first response to Cunningham's stated wish, said that the feeling was mutual.

Quarterback Randall Cunningham, an unrestricted free agent, told Comcast SportsNet that he’s retiring from the league to focus on his family and private business. He said he’d like to retire as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Ravens last season.

The Trenton Times reports free agent QB Randall Cunningham (Ravens) would like to play one or two more years in the NFL. The big question regarding him for 2002 is where will he play. Three teams that look to need a veteran backup QB and could take a look at him are Atlanta, Jacksonville and Pittsburgh. None of have looked into Cunningham at this point, but as training camp approaches could that change?

Updating an ongoing story, the Washington Post reports although Baltimore Ravens coach Brian Billick has said the team is interested in pursuing free agent QB Jeff Blake (Saints), it is more likely the team would re-sign QB Randall Cunningham. QB Chris Redman still appears to be starter, at this time.

The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Ravens QB Chris Redman said he will be ready to be the team's No. 1 QB starting with the 2002 season. "I'm definitely confident in my abilities," Redman said yesterday. "I think I can compete at this level. But I'm not going to give any predictions. That's not my style. Talk is cheap." The Ravens are banking that Redman, the No. 3 quarterback the past two years, can assume the starting role. The team may also re-sign veteran QB Randall Cunningham as insurance.

The Baltimore Sun reports the Baltimore Ravens are leaning towards promoting Chris Redman to starting quarterback and re-signing QB Randall Cunningham, or another veteran, to serve as the backup. The Ravens could also add a third QB in the NFL Draft.
