Updating an earlier story, the Ottawa Sun reports the Ottawa Renegades of the CFL are close to signing former NFL QBs Dameyune Craig and Romaro Miller. "I'm somewhere between hopeful and optimistic we'll be able to sign Dameyune or Romaro, and quite possibly both, by week's end," Renegades GM Eric Tillman said Monday.

Paul Woody reports for the Times-Dispatch Washington Redskins QB Sage Rosenfels has the early lead in the four-horse race to be the team's starting QB. QB Danny Wuerffel is neck and neck with him and rookie QB Patrick Ramsey is more than "in the mix." QB Dameyune Craig is unofficially the No. 4 quarterback. Unofficially, Ramsey will be given every chance to win the starting job and the other three quarterbacks know that.

The Washington Post reports the Washington Redskins will have their second mini-camp this weekend. The camp opens Friday morning. QB Sage Rosenfels will get the first chance to work with the starting offense at quarterback, coach Steve Spurrier said Thursday, but QBs Danny Wuerffel, Dameyune Craig and rookie Patrick Ramsey also will get their opportunities.

According to the Washington Post, Washington Redskins head coach Steve Spurrier said on Wednesday evening that he does not plan to pursue veteran free agent QB Shane Matthews, who was released by the Chicago Bears on Wednesday. Spurrier plans to stick with his current QBs -- Patrick Ramsey, Danny Wuerffel, Sage Rosenfels and Dameyune Craig -- and not add any more QBs to the roster. Spurrier said it would be too difficult to train five QBs.
