Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams WR Ronald Curry was critical of one of his former teams, the Oakland Raiders, particularly how he was treated by former head coach Lane Kiffin. "I come back to camp (in 2008) and I'm fourth on the depth chart after leading the team in receptions the last couple years," Curry said. "So that kind of blew me (away). Just being kind of jerked in and out, in and out. It kind of bothered me mentally. I felt like I had put myself in a position to where I shouldn't have been treated like that. I usually pride myself on overcoming those situations, but for some reason I just couldn't get myself together. And here I am."

St. Louis Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo said WR Ronald Curry didn't do anything to discourage the coaching staff during workouts Friday, July 31. Spagnuolo noted he thought Curry caught the ball well as a punt returner, and said the team will keep their eye on that.

Jim Thomas, of The St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports one veteran NFL personnel man, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said St. Louis Rams WR Ronald Curry has lost a step. However, the source noted Curry is still capable of being more than just a possession receiver. Curry, who must pass a physical with the Rams before his trade is completed, brings much needed size and experience to the Rams.

Curry went even as far as to hint that he may wind up with a new team next season. "It's a tough pill to swallow, especially when you go from that to not playing at all," Curry said. "The picture is pretty clear. My mindset is to go out there, work hard, and put film out there for other teams. If I get another opportunity I feel like my past kind of speaks for itself and I've shown that I can make plays and hopefully my talent will be wanted somewhere else."

He went from 212 pounds to 218 pounds from added muscle. At the start of training camp, he is down to 204 pounds and looking to improve on last season's numbers (55 receptions, 717 yards). Head coach Lane Kiffin has been impressed with Curry's desire to improve.
