Free-agent RP Mark Prior (Yankees) (hernia) might attempt one more comeback. His rebuilt arm held up pretty well and his velocity was into the low 90s. However, Prior had surgery for a sports hernia, and the problem wasn't completely corrected. He will likely work out for teams as early as March.

Free-agent RP Mark Prior (Yankees) is expected to make one more comeback this season. He is currently throwing in the low 90s but recently underwent sports hernia surgery and hasn't fully recovered. Prior, who is rehabbing near his home in San Diego, is expected to work out for teams next month.

New York Yankees RP Mark Prior (forearm, back, groin) had increased velocity on his fastball during his minor league rehab outing with the Gulf Coast League Friday, Aug. 5. He hit the first batter he faced in the head but then went on to strike out two in one inning and 16 pitches. His curveball looked nasty, and he admitted that he holds the pitch more like a slider now.
