He is expected to miss four to six weeks. In a corresponding move, the team recalled INF Hector Luna from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
Fantasy Tip: Ruiz likely will be out until at least the beginning of September if the expectation of four to six weeks is accurate. He has played very well this season with a .335 batting average, 14 home runs and 58 RBIs. Catchers Brian Schneider and Erik Kratz will share the catching duties while Ruiz is out but neither likely would be a fantasy option at this point.
