JapaneseBaseball.com reports the Hiroshima Carp have signed former major league P Jared Fernandez to a one-year deal worth $200,000. He spent the 2006 season with the Milwaukee Brewers and their top minor league club, Triple-A Nashville.

Updating earlier items, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Drew Olson reports Milwaukee Brewers RP Jared Fernandez has been added to the team's 25-man roster. The 34-year-old knuckleballer has shown good durability this spring.

Adam McCalvy, of Brewers.MLB.com, reports two players have a chance at the final Opening Day roster spot for the Milwaukee Brewers. RP Jared Fernandez, who has been great all spring, is in line for the spot but he had a poor outing Monday, March 27 which could open the door for RP Mike Adams. Both players will get two more appearances before a decision is made.
