Seattle Mariners 3B Chone Figgins admitted that he wasn't aggressive enough in the No. 2 spot in the batting order, and he would be open to moving to leadoff in 2012, something that manager Eric Wedge is heavily considering. "It would be great to go back to leadoff and do that again," Figgins said. "If not, I have to change my mindset as a '2' hitter. I haven't really changed my mindset to be a '2' hitter. I've stuck with being a patient hitter." Figgins wants to be patient but also acknowledged that he must be more aggressive in certain situations.

Seattle Mariners manager Eric Wedge plans to turn 3B Chone Figgins into a super-utility player in hopes of getting more production out of him. "I've talked to him: He's going to play all over. He's going to have reps everywhere in the outfield, as well as second, short and third. We're going to have him all over place, give him every opportunity to play, every opportunity to get at-bats but also play all over defensively. It's how he broke in in Anaheim."

Updating a previous report, Seattle Mariners manager Eric Wedge is leaning toward using OF Ichiro Suzuki in the second or third spot in the batting order this season. 3B Chone Figgins is likely to lead off instead.

Seattle Mariners general manager Jack Zduriencik said that 3B Chone Figgins is looking to have a comeback season and compete again for the team's starting third-base job, but there are indications the club has talked to the Rockies about dealing the veteran infielder.

The Colorado Rockies want to re-sign 2B Mark Ellis this offseason, but for something around $3 million for the year. Ellis made $6 million this year, plus incentives.
