Oakland Athletics 3B Josh Donaldson was demoted to Triple-A Sacramento to make room for 3B Luke Hughes on the roster. Although the move is presumably to get Donaldson more seasoning at the plate, Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Donaldson will continue to split time between third base and catching.

Athletics | Jordan Norberto could break camp in relief

The Oakland Athletics are going to give SP Jordan Norberto every chance to break camp with the club this year as a reliever. "With his stuff and the amount of starters we have, if he's going to make an impact, it's going to be in the bullpen," manager Bob Melvin said. "It's up to him to be able to go out there and calm down a little bit, think a little bit slower."
