Marc Jimenez, of Chicago.WhiteSox.MLB.com, reports Chicago White Sox OF Ruben Rivera hit two home runs and knocked in four runs Thursday, Dec. 28, and Friday, Dec. 29, to bring his totals to 21 home runs and 58 RBI in 67 Mexican Pacific League games. Rivera is also hitting .282 for the Tomateros de Culiacan.

The New York Post reports the New York Yankees may sign OF Ruben Rivera (Mexican League) to a minor league contract. Rivera is a former top prospect of the team.

The Washington Post's Ryan Clark reports the Baltimore Orioles signed free agent outfielder Ruben Rivera to a minor league contract, financial terms of which were not disclosed. Rivera will report to Double-A Bowie on Saturday. After spending the first part of this season with the San Francisco Giants, Rivera was released June 4 after batting .190.

Janie Mccauley of Associated Press reports the San Francisco Giants placed OF Ruben Rivera on waivers Tuesday, June 3, for the purpose of giving him his unconditional release. He had hit only .180 with two home runs and four RBI in 166 at-bats.

Darren Sabedra of The San Jose Mercury News reports San Francisco Giants outfielder Ruben Rivera may make the team as a fifth outfielder. After he socked his fourth home run Thursday against Colorado, Rivera is hitting .464 (13 for 28) with 13 RBIs.
