Tue, 14 May 2013 18:22:38 -0700 Updating a previous report, Toronto Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes (ankle) has progressed well in his recovery from a severe ankle sprain April 12, and "it would not surprise me to see him back at the end of June," general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Tuesday, May 14. Fantasy Tip: Reyes was originally scheduled to be out until around the All-Star break, and that could still very well happen. He will start hitting off a tee in the next few days, and will begin to jog and build ankle and leg strength shortly. Fantasy owners still need to keep him nailed to the bench, but this is encouraging news.
Tue, 14 May 2013 12:57:55 -0700 Toronto Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes (ankle) is no longer in his walking boot, and he's continuing his rehab. However, he's still expected to be out until around the All-Star break. Fantasy Tip: Munenori Kawasaki will continue to fill in at the 6 with Reyes on the disabled list. Be patient with Reyes and continue to monitor his progress as we approach the middle of the summer.

Mon, 15 Apr 2013 13:27:53 -0700 Updating a previous report, Toronto Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes (ankle) is still expected to miss three months, and he'll be off his foot for an entire month. Fantasy Tip: The fact that Reyes won't need surgery doesn't change his timetable drastically. Prepare for an extended absence from Reyes.

Mon, 15 Apr 2013 12:34:36 -0700 Toronto Blue Jays SS Jose Reyes (ankle) found out Monday, April 15, that his ankle injury isn't as serious as previously thought, and he might be able to return in roughly eight weeks. The team originally thought he would be expected to miss three months. Fantasy Tip: Reyes will still be out for two-plus months, which is a huge blow to fantasy players and the Blue Jays. Maicer Izturis is expected to replace Reyes at the 6, so he becomes much more valuable in AL-only leagues. Brett Lawrie (rib cage) will shift from third to second base when he returns from the DL, with Jose Bautista moving to the hot corner.
Sat, 13 Apr 2013 13:06:01 -0700 The Toronto Blue Jays have placed SS Jose Reyes (ankle) on the 15-day disabled list. In a corresponding move, the team recalled SS Munenori Kawasaki from Triple-A Buffalo.

Fri, 12 Apr 2013 21:06:20 -0700 Updating a previous report, Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said Friday, April 12, that the best case scenario for SS Jose Reyes (ankle) to return would be one month, with the worst case scenario three months. Reyes will have an MRI Saturday, April 13. Reyes was hurt on a slide Friday against the Kansas City Royals, and he immediately rolled onto his back and grabbed at his ankle, screaming in pain. He headed to the hospital after the game, and was brought out of the clubhouse in a wheelchair. Fantasy Tip: Reyes will be sidelined for a while, and Maicer Izturis is expected to serve as the short-term replacement at shortstop. Omar Quintanilla could also be recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to provide depth at the position.
