Rockies | Jose Reyes out of the lineup

Sun, 30 Aug 2015 08:13:19 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes is not in the starting lineup against Pittsburgh Pirates SP Charlie Morton Sunday, Aug. 30. 2B Daniel Descalso will start at shortstop and is batting seventh in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes ($5,000, 10.0% of cap) likely will return to the lineup in the next game or two. Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is hitting .215 this season and is not a great option on FantasyScore.

Rockies | Jose Reyes would welcome trade

Mon, 24 Aug 2015 08:52:32 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes would welcome a trade out of Colorado, and the Rockies are likely seeking to trade him, too. Reyes isn't interested in playing for a team that's not competitive, and the Rockies are on pace for another 95-loss year. Colorado owes Reyes more than $56 million through the 2017 season. "I'm at the point in my career that I want to win," Reyes said. "I say it over and over. I want to win. I don't want to spend the rest of my career on a last-place team. That's not the kind of player I feel like I am." Reyes was put through waivers last week and went unclaimed, so the Rockies can trade Reyes to any team. It could be tough to trade him, though, as his OPS is below .700 for the first time since 2005, and he ranks last in defensive runs saved this year among 25 qualifying shortstops.

Fantasy Tip: Even though Reyes ($4,400, 8.8% of cap) is on a last-place team, the move to Colorado was good for his overall fantasy value, as he's hitting in one of the more hitter-friendly home ballparks at Coors Field. Another trade this year would likely decrease his value for the remainder of the 2015 season.

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes is not in the starting lineup against New York Mets SP Logan Verrett Sunday, Aug. 23. INF Daniel Descalso will play shortstop and bat eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Descalso ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is only batting .176 this month and is hitting .212 this season with four home runs and 19 RBIs in 79 games. You can ignore him for FantasyScore purposes.

Yankees | Jose Reyes perking Yanks' interest?

Fri, 14 Aug 2015 07:01:44 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes has received a little contact on his services from the New York Yankees, but it's not known if there was any real dialogue between the two teams.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) recently cleared waivers and can be dealt anywhere. He is a solid midrange option at Coors Field on FantasyScore.

Rockies | Jose Reyes takes a breather

Thu, 13 Aug 2015 08:16:57 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes is out of the lineup Thursday, Aug. 13, with 2B DJ LeMahieu sliding up to hit second.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) faces a tough matchup against Thor Syndergaard, and he has hit just .263 this month. He's a shaky midrange option on FantasyScore today.

Rockies | Jose Reyes back in lineup

Sun, 02 Aug 2015 11:22:50 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes is back in the starting lineup Sunday, Aug. 2, against the St. Louis Cardinals.

Fantasy Tip: Saturday's absence was an off day for Reyes ($4,600, 9.2% of cap), but he looks healthy moving forward. The only concern is you may want to see how his bat and speed adjusts to the altitude of Coors Field, but there should be little problem.

Rockies | Jose Reyes out of lineup

Sat, 01 Aug 2015 14:35:52 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes isn't in the starting lineup Saturday, Aug. 1, against the St. Louis Cardinals. 2B Daniel Descalso will start at shortstop and hit eighth in the lineup against RHP Lance Lynn, while 2B DJ LeMahieu will start at second base and hit second in the order.

Fantasy Tip: LeMahieu ($4,800, 9.6% of cap) has had at least one hit in all but one game since July 3. He doesn't have a home run in that span, but he has hit five doubles, and he has 11 multi-hit games. LeMahieu will continue to be a strong FantasyScore option.

Rockies | Jose Reyes makes COL debut

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 20:55:58 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes made his team debut Wednesday, July 29, against the Chicago Cubs. He went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base. It wasn't all good, as he was also caught stealing.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) could see a slight bump in value in FantasyScore, especially when he makes his home debut at Coors Field and starts playing in Denver regularly.

Rockies | Jose Reyes hitting second in team debut

Wed, 29 Jul 2015 09:39:15 -0700

Colorado Rockies SS Jose Reyes is hitting second Wednesday, July 29, in his team debut with the Rockies.

Fantasy Tip: Reyes ($4,600, 9.2% of cap) is just 2-for-23 lifetime against Jon Lester and may not be the best option today on FantasyScore. However, when he goes back to Coors Field, this price is a good price.
