Santiago appeared to injure his left ankle on the play, but remained in the game after being attended to by Detroit's training staff.

However, his rehab plan doesn't call for him to play in an exhibition game until two weeks before the start of the regular season. "I can push through any amount of pain, and my tendency is to push through it and get better quicker," Inge said. "But they really stressed to me that if I tried to push through it, I could get the tendonitis right back. So I have to take it slow." 2B Ryan Raburn, IF Don Kelly or 2B Ramon Santiago could fill in at third if Inge is not ready.
