Detroit Tigers manager Jim Leyland announced Tuesday, Feb. 19, that his regular infielders will start the Grapefruit League spring game Friday, Feb. 22, against the Atlanta Braves. That means 1B Prince Fielder, 2B Omar Infante, 3B Miguel Cabrera and SS Jhonny Peralta will comprise the infield, with C Brayan Pena behind the plate.

Detroit Tigers 2B Omar Infante (wrist) is healing fine and is joining a team in the Venezuelan Winter League this week. His agent, Scott Pucino, said Infante's wrist "is healing perfectly." His injury did not require surgery.

Detroit Tigers 2B Omar Infante (finger) suffered a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal in his left hand. He will not need surgery on the fracture.
