Detroit Tigers 1B Miguel Cabrera (ankle) was cleared to wear normal shoes and walk without the aid of a walking boot Thursday, Jan. 15. Cabrera has a follow-up exam scheduled just before spring training opens. Although he could be cleared for baseball activities then, he will not have the conditioning built up to be a full participant in full-squad workouts initially.

Detroit Tigers 1B Miguel Cabrera (foot) will continue to wear a walking boot until a mid-February follow-up exam with the doctor who performed the procedure to repair the stress fracture and remove bone spurs from Cabrera's right foot. Cabrera will be cleared for baseball activities around the beginning of spring training, if his foot and ankle checkout well, but he will not be able to participate in full team workouts initially.

Detroit Tigers 1B Miguel Cabrera (ankle) has been making progress from offseason ankle surgery, but his status for the start of the regular season is uncertain at this point. He is currently in the partial weight-bearing stage of his recovery and is scheduled to meet with a doctor next month to see if he can put all of his weight on his ankle.

Detroit Tigers 1B Miguel Cabrera (ankle) had surgery to repair a stress fracture and remove bone spurs in his right ankle. The stress fracture was discovered on his navicular bone on the top of his foot. He'll be re-evaluated in three months.
