ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports wide receiver Yatil Green, a former first-round draft choice of the Dolphins, is trying to make a comeback. Green, who has been hampered by injuries most of his career, will workout for the Oakland Raiders.

The Sun-Sentinel reports the Miami Dolphins held workouts for two of their former players, WR Yatil Green and RB Bernie Parmalee. The team said it had no plans to sign either. LB Khari Samuel, just released by the Bears, also had a workout with the Dolphins.

The Ticket 1050 has reported the Oakland Raiders have released RB Chris Howard, WR Ken-Yon Rambo, WR Alex Van Dyke, WR Yatil Green, LB James Burgess, LB Ryan Taylor, C Paul Hogan, OT Jerry Crafts and DL Darren Mickell. The team also placed WR Reggie Barlow on the injured reserve list.

The San Jose Mercury News reports Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said DT Junior Ioane, TE Jeremy Brigham, RB Chris Howard and OL Tony Hudson should be able to play Monday. TE Eric Bjornson and WR Yatil Green are still more than a week away according to Gruden.

John Ryan reports for the San Jose Mercury News Oakland Raiders WR Marcus Knight's performance in Saturday's pre-season game may have helped his bid to secure a roster spot. Playing with the second team, he caught six passes for 61 yards, including two third-and-long catches that kept drives alive. "Marcus has as good a work ethic as anyone I've been around," coach Jon Gruden said. One of his competitors, rookie Ken-Yon Rambo had no catches and another, Alex Van Dyke, dropped the only pass that came his way in his second consecutive disappointing game. Two other competitors, Reggie Barlow and Yatil Green have struggled with injuries.

The San Jose Mercury News' John Ryan reports Oakland Raiders WR Yatil Green continues to struggle with a hamstring injury. "It's too bad, because the lights were really starting to come on for him," coach Jon Gruden said. Frank Middleton will start at left guard Saturday while Steve Wisniewski gets in football shape. TE Roland Williams, who missed a week due to a funeral, returned Thursday afternoon and will play Saturday. Due to a shortage of WRs, Eric Metcalf could see some action at WR this weekend.

The Contra Costa Times reports Oakland Raiders WRs Andy McCullough and Yatil Green, TE Eric Bjornson (hamstring) and OL Shar Pourdanesh (knee), Nate Parks (knee) and Josh Tucker (knee) didn't practice. DT Grady Jackson, DE Josh Taves and OL Paul Hogan returned to practice on Thursday. G Steve Wisniewski worked at full speed in both practices for the first time since reporting to camp Saturday.

Dave Williams reports for the Press Democrat Oakland Raiders WR Yatil Green was pulled from Monday's afternoon practice after tweaking his hamstring. The injury doesn't appear to be major. WRs David Dunn (hamstring) and Marcus Knight (groin) took part in practice in a limited capacity.

Steve Corkran reports for the Contra Costa Times the Oakland Raiders will continue to look to develop a deep threat WR during training camp. Coach Jon Gruden has spent a lot of time working with second-year player Jerry Porter, drafted big-play threat Ken-yon Rambo and signed speed burners such as Yatil Green and Reggie Barlow, who were free agents. Gruden wants a reliable game-breaker who can stretch the defense on a regular basis.

Dave Williams reports for the Press Democrat Oakland Raiders backup WR Yatil Green had to leave Saturday's practice with a hamstring injury that has been nagging him for about a month. DT Grady Jackson won't participate in any of the workouts because he's still recovering from off-season shoulder surgery. OL Lincoln Kennedy was held out of practice as well as he basically was given the morning off by coach Jon Gruden.
