The Atlanta Journal Constitution reports that two second year players filled in well on the first team offense for the missing RB Jamal Anderson and OL Gene Williams. Ken Oxendine stepped in at RB while Bob Hallen ran with the first team during the team's three-day minicamp which is over now. "Ken is the next guy in line (behind Anderson)," Coach Dan Reeves said. "He's the guy (at the top) of the depth chart now, and he deserves to be there until somebody shows they can play better." Also, the Falcons are setting team records for ticket sales at the box office and they expect to have 42,000 season ticket holders by week 1.

Charles Odom writes in the Ledger-Enquirer that all the news for the Falcons was not bad today as RBs Bob Christian and Bryon Hanspard were at practice today. Both are attempting to comeback from knee injuries suffered in 1998. Christian says he expects to be ready to participate in the July 28 opening of training camp. Hanspard showed good quickness and speed Monday but said he has not yet been cleared for training camp. The team used RB Ken Oxendine with the first team offense today for 11-on-11 drills.
