Joe Christensen, of the Star Tribune, reports the Minnesota Twins have signed free-agent SP Zach Day (Royals) to a minor league contract. Day will have an opportunity to make the Twins starting rotation this spring but will begin the season at Triple-A Rochester.

According to The Kansas City Star, Kansas City Royals SP Zach Day (shoulder), who is in camp on a minor-league contract, appeared to have no problem in his 10-minute session throwing batting practice on Feb. 27. He is recovering from June 6 surgery to repair a partial tear in his right rotator cuff.
