He held a news conference yesterday at St. Vincent College to announce his retirement from pro football.

CB Kevin Abrams, who has missed the past two years with a foot injury, probably will not play again. The team may be in the market for help at the QB position. It appears doubtful the Lions will pursue any of last year's backup QBs; Mike Tomczak, Stoney Case or Cory Sauter. Team President Matt Millen would prefer a veteran QB who knows the team's offensive scheme and is willing to be a teacher to QB Charlie Batch.

Moeller has ruled out running the offense himself and calling plays. Moeller stated the team will be aggressive in going after a backup for oft-injured QB Charlie Batch. QB Mike Tomczak will probably not be back, he spent the entire season on injured reserve after breaking his right leg in the third exhibition game.
