The Associated Press reports former NFL QB Todd Marinovich was ordered into a six-month drug rehabilitation program Friday, June 3. That will be followed by six months of outpatient treatment for violating terms of his probation. Marinovich did express to the court his willingness to be free of drugs and his desire to live a drug-free life.

The Associated Press reports former NFL QB Todd Marinovich was arrested Friday, May 20, for being found in a public bathroom with apparent drug paraphernalia in Newport Beach, Calif. After a police officer found Marinovich in the bathroom with a bent spoon and syringe, the former first-round pick fled on bicycle but was arrested 15 blocks away. Marinovich was being held in an Orange County jail for investigation for a violation of his probation pending a drug court hearing.

Bloomberg is reporting that QB Todd Marinovich has signed a one-year contract with the British Columbia Lions of the CFL. Financial terms of the contract are still being worked out according to his agent.

The Tacoma News-Tribune reports the Seahawks have apparently lost interest in Todd Marinovich as a potential backup QB for them. Tony Banks (and his high price tag of a second-round draft pick) is also reportedly not being considered. The team has received permission to negotiate with the agent for QB Jim Harbaugh but they have not made the Ravens an offer yet for him.

Steve Springer of the Los Angeles Times is reporting that former Raiders QB Todd Marinovich had a workout for the Seahawks at Orange Coast College on Friday with a rep from the Seahawks who recommended that Marinovich be flown to Seattle for a better look. Bill Quinter, the Seahawks' pro scouting director, said he was pleasantly surprised. "I think his arm strength has increased from what I remember," Quinter said. Was he concerned about Marinovich's troubled past? "I don't worry about the past," he said. "I came down to watch the Todd Marinovich of today." Marinovich has undergone a vigorous training program and reportedly has added 25 pounds of muscle. Wow!
