Tom Kowalski reports for mlive.com many of the free agents that are on the Detroit Lions roster may see action Sunday due to the team's injury situation. If RB James Stewart (ankle) can't play, RB Aveion Cason, who was signed in late November, is expected to get a lot of looks. With rookie QB Mike McMahon (foot) expected to sit again, QB Ty Detmer will get the call with Scott Dreisbach as the No. 2 QB. The injury situation at WR may force the team to sign WR Latef Grim from the practice squad although coach Marty Mornhinweg said he does not anticipate doing so. S Marty Carter may start this week with Lamar Campbell (thigh) doubtful. Also LB Brian Williams will see extensive action with Barrett Green (back) most likely OUT again.

SportsLine.com's Len Pasquarelli reports Atlanta Falcons safety Marty Carter, who counts $2.62 million against the salary cap this year, may be walking on thin ice in Atlanta.
