Steelers | Troy Polamalu nears milestone

Pittsburgh Steelers SS Troy Polamalu's 19-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter against the Miami Dolphins was the fifth defensive touchdown of his career, one shy of the franchise record held by Rod Woodson. Three others also scored five defensive touchdowns -- Carnell Lake, Dwayne Woodruff and Jack Butler. The interception was the 32nd of Polamalu's career, tying him with Jack Ham and Darren Perry for seventh most in team history.

Packers | Waiting for big plays from Morgan Burnett

The Green Bay Packers are still waiting for progression from S Morgan Burnett. "He's a good football player, and we have no doubts about him," Packers safeties coach Darren Perry said. "We just have got to keep him going and making sure as a unit that we're playing together and we're not giving up the big play, because that's where you want to make sure that you're not slipping, because that just demoralizes a defense."

Packers | M.D. Jennings earns starting job

Green Bay Packers FS M.D. Jennings will start at free safety in the team's Week 5 game, and there are no plans to rotate anyone into the lineup. "M.D.'s earned it," said Darren Perry, who coaches the safeties. "M.D. has been more consistent than all of them. He's made plays. He's been consistent in his tackling."

Raiders | Two to be interviewed

The Oakland Raiders will interview Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg for their head coaching position this weekend, according to a league source. Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Mike Tice will interview for the same position Tuesday, Jan. 24. Other candidates include Green Bay Packers linebackers coach Winston Moss, offensive coordinator Joe Philbin, defensive coordinator Dom Capers, quarterbacks coach Tom Clements and secondary coach Darren Perry.

A high-ranking league official with knowledge of the Philadelphia Eagles' thinking said Green Bay Packers assistant coach Darren Perry is not atop the team's defensive coordinator wish list, according to Reuben Frank, of CSNPhilly.com. Although the Eagles like Perry and may very well interview him, he is not the assistant coach head coach Andy Reid and general manager Howie Roseman covet.
