The Philadelphia Inquirer reports the Eagles met with free agent DL Tom Barndt (Chiefs), who is a restricted so he'd cost a sixth-round pick in compensation, and Mark Wheeler (Patriots) on Monday. No contract offer was made to Barndt who is now expected to visit Jacksonville next, while the team does feel very good about their meeting with Wheeler and the article speculates a deal could be struck as early as later today.

The Florida Times Union reports the Jaguars are said to have a strong interest in Chiefs RFA DT Tom Barndt. If they sign him and the Chiefs don't match the offer then the Jags would owe the Chiefs a sixth-round draft pick as compensation. Other defensive linemen that interest the Jaguars are Mark Wheeler (NE) and Bob Kuberski (GB).

The Tennessean reports the Titans met with Patriots Free Agent DT Mark Wheeler yesterday and he would love to become a Titans player. "I got the impression they really want me to be here," Wheeler said. "And I want to be here. I think we'll get something done pretty soon. With the scheme they run and the stuff they have going on here, I think I'd fit in real good."
