Just because WR Tony Martin is no longer with the team, the Atlanta Falcons don't expect their passing game to slow down. The AP reports the team is very comfortable with WR Chris Calloway and Terance Mathis as their starting WRs. The players have been joking with each other on who will be the possession WR for the Falcons this year, but Mathis put it best when he stated, "You've got to understand if you're called upon to catch balls on certain routes, that's what you catch. If they pay you to go deep, that's what you catch ... it's just a matter of making some adjustments."

The AP reports the Falcons were clearly concerned about the legal problems Tony Martin was having and they were due to pay him a $400,000 roster bonus on Monday. Falcons GM Harold Richardson did say if Martin was exonerated of his current charges the Falcons would consider re-signing him. Richardson also said the team would have signed WR Chris Calloway even if Martin was still on the roster. He said the two moves were not related.

ESPN reports the Falcons have agreed to a three-year, $3.9 million contract with Free Agent WR Chris Calloway.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports the Atlanta Falcons are interested in bringing in ex-Bronco S Steve Atwater and ex-Giant WR Chris Calloway. However, they're also very tight on this year's salary cap so they're looking for ways to restructure contracts. One player they're looking to extend the contract of is RB Jamal Anderson. Anderson is eligible for free agency after this season.
