ESPN's John Clayton reports the Detroit Lions have added another veteran free agent safety. The team has picked up S Bracey Walker (Chiefs) with a one-year, $650,000 deal.

The Kansas City Star reports, in addition to the previously reported WR Derrick Alexander, the Kansas City Chiefs placed WR Larry Parker, DBs Taje Allen and Bracey Walker and DT Nate Hobgood-Chittick on their expansion list. The Texans would do the Chiefs a huge favor if they claimed Alexander. Houston would assume Alexander's 2002 base salary of $3.475 million. Word is if Alexander is not selected in the expansion draft, he will probably be released. "He could be replaced by somebody better," Vermeil said. "He has a way of working that can irritate you, or not working. He's developed bad habits on the practice field."
