Chris Harry, of the Orlando Sentinel, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie RB Carnell Williams needs 15 yards to surpass RB Errict Rhett's team rookie record of 1,011 rushing yards in a season set in 1994.

Buccaneers.com reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Michael Pittman is currently seventh on the franchise's all-time rushing list with 2,395 yards, but another 663 yards would leapfrog him past former RBs Errict Rhett (2,853) and Ricky Bell (3,057) and into the team's top five.

According to the AP, former Cleveland Browns RB Errict Rhett is suing the team doctor and the Cleveland Clinic. He believes there was a misdiagnosis of the foot injury that ended his career. John Bergfeld, a team doctor affiliated with the Cleveland Clinic, did not perform the surgery but cleared Rhett to play in July 2001. Rhett argues that his foot was not completely healed, and he needed at least two additional months of recovery time. The lawsuit seeks at least $25,000 in damages.

According to Len Pasquarelli of ESPN.com, former NFL RB Errict Rhett wants to come back to the NFL. He has phoned a few agents seeking representation and leads on any potential roster openings.

The Canton Repository reports agent Gene Mato said RB Errict Rhett is working hard and would like to try a comeback in the NFL. Mato hopes to talk to Redskins coach Steve Spurrier and anyone else willing to give the 31-year-old Rhett a fair shot. "Errict has always performed well under adversity," Mato said.

The Washington Post reports free agent RB Errict Rhett took a physical with the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday. However, the the team decided not to sign him. SVP of football operations Ozzie Newsome is expected to make one more pitch to retired Minnesota Vikings RB Robert Smith about joining the Ravens.

The Baltimore Sun reports the Baltimore Ravens have also decided not to pursue free agent RB Errict Rhett, in addition to the previously reported Chris Warren. The team will sit pat for two weeks and then possibly pursue a RB already in training camp with a team. Also, coach Brian Billick denied an earlier report he contacted retired RB Robert Smith. "I have not talked to Robert Smith," Billick said. "I would love to have Robert Smith. But I have not talked to Robert Smith." RB Terry Allen, who recently signed, practiced for the first time but only in non-contact drills. He fumbled his first carry.

Updating previous reports, Don Banks reports for CNN/SI the Baltimore Ravens will bring in free agent RBs Chris Warren and Greg Hill for workouts on Friday as the team attempts to replace Jamal Lewis. Earlier reports had Terry Allen and Robert Chancey visiting as well. The also team talked with the agent for RB Errict Rhett on Thursday, and while he isn't expected to work out with Baltimore, he may in the next day or so take a physical and possibly sign. Adrian Murrell is another name lurking in the background.

The Times-Union reports the Jacksonville Jaguars visited with free agent RB Errict Rhett as expected, but they have decided not to sign him. Rhett passed his physical with the team, despite lingering concerns about a torn ligament in his foot, but he didn't impress the team during a brief workout.

The Times-Union reports a visit to the Jacksonville Jaguars by free agent RB Errict Rhett has been delayed until Monday. He remains optimistic about signing with Jacksonville. "It's looking like a great opportunity for both sides," Rhett's agent, Eugene Mato.
