The Chicago Tribune reports the Bears met with Free Agent QB Heath Shuler earlier today but he does not appear to be in their future plans. The Bears are expected to draft a QB early in the upcoming draft and Shuler feels that's a situation he does not want to get into. "If a team's in a situation where they say, "We're definitely going to go after our quarterback of the future," then that's certainly not a place I want to be," Shuler said. The Bears remain "interested" in Tony Banks (StL) and Glenn Foley (NYJ) although not much is taking place on those fronts. Reportedly the Jets will potentially shop LB James Farrior since they have come to an agreement with LB Roman Phifer, and the Bears would have some interest in Farrior if he is shopped.
