49ers.com reports the San Francisco 49ers worked out LB Lamar Lathon earlier today. "Everything is feeling really good,” said Lathon. “The knock on me when I retired was my injury, but I have worked out and had physicals with Indianapolis and Dallas and they have cleared me.” Coach Steve Mariucci liked Lathon's workout, but he added the team did not have the salary cap space to sign him right now. The team may consider Lathon "down the road."

The Indianapolis Star reports former Carolina Panthers LB Lamar Lathon will soon be in for a tryout with the Indianapolis Colts. As previously reported he has already met with the Dallas Cowboys. He is flying to Indianapolis on Thursday to meet with the Colts. Lathon said his knee is fully recovered. His recovery from knee surgery cost him the last two seasons in the NFL.

According to their official site, the Dallas Cowboys worked out former NFL LB Lamar Lathon and LB Ronnie Nix on Friday. Lathon has not played the football the past two seasons because of injuries. Nix played his college ball at Notre Dame.

The San Diego Union Tribune reports the team has offered a contract to LB Lamar Lathon, Beathard says, "I don't think it's going anywhere right now." Lathon apparently wants to look around some more because the Chargers are offering him a split contract. He would get paid a full contract if he made the roster, but a lesser contract if he wound up on either the IR or PUP lists.
