The Journal Sentinel reports the Green Bay Packers held a try out for former New York Giants S Emile White and New York Jets S James Rooths, along with the previously reported Tremain Mack (Bengals). Rooths was the most impressive of the group, so he was signed to the practice squad. The other two were not impressive and were not offered contracts.

Len Pasquarelli reports for ESPN.com the Green Bay Packers are considering adding former Cincinnati Bengals safety and kickoff return/special teams standout Tremain Mack as a possible replacement for the injured Antuan Edwards. Mack arrived in Green Bay on Tuesday and will audition for coaches and team officials. Mack can be used in "nickel" and "dime" packages at safety or cornerback. He could also help the return game where Allen Rossum has been injured.

Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson reports the Bengals made more roster cuts today and the list contained a few surprises. S/KR Tremain Mack and P Daniel Pope were two of the cuts. The team placed rookie TE Sean Brewer on the injured reserve list. WR Damon Griffin was also placed on IR with a minor injury. The team officially re-signed QB Scott Covington when the team was forced to carry four QBs due to Scott Mitchell's injury. Also released were FB Clif Groce and DE Kevin Henry. WR Malcolm Johnson, C Roger Roesler and DE Corey Moore joined the list of released players. Rookie free agents who have practice squad eligibility that were cut were TE Kirk McMullen, DT Jeff Boyle, and LBs Rashad Harris and Chris Edmonds.

Geoff Hobson reports for Bengals.com rookie WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh (foot) didn't play Saturday and he is questionable for Thursday's pre-season finale. QB Akili Smith (shoulder) is questionable as well. DE Kevin Henry (hamstring) is probable after missing last night's game. WR Chad Plummer injured his right hip last night. He will be probable if he passed an MRI late Saturday night. S Tremain Mack (shoulder) had a stinger, but returned to the game. He is probable for Thursday as is LG Matt O'Dwyer (rib strain).

Geoff Hobson reports for Bengals.com S Tremain Mack had to start tonight's pre-season game at free safety because starter Chris Carter couldn't start because of a sore hamstring. Mack hurt his shoulder on the kickoff before the first defensive series and was replaced by JoJuan Armour because his return was questionable. Carter eventually had to play too. DB Corey Hall got thrown out of the game with Bills LB Fred Jones after an altercation midway through the second quarter.

Len Pasquarelli of SportsLine.com reports Cincinnati Bengals S Tremain Mack will spend another 20 days in jail. Barring another run-in with the law, this will be his last stint in jail.

As an update to previous reports, Bengals.com reports kick returner Tremain Mack was released from jail on Wednesday. Hamilton County judge Ralph Winkler warned him another violation of his probation will put him in jail for the duration of his sentence.

The Cincinnati Post reports there still have not been any talks regarding a new contract between RB Corey Dillon's agent Leigh Steinberg and the Bengals. VP Katie Blackburn said she expects some other team will set the market for Dillon. At the Pro Bowl on Sunday, Dillon told ABC Sports he just wanted to play for a winner. Elsewhere, Bengals S Tremain Mack could be released from prison as early as Wednesday.

Associated Press, as an update to previous stories, reports Cincinnati Bengals DB Tremain Mack has been sentenced to one-year in jail for violating probation on drunken driving charges. However, he could be released in a month. Mack had been driving his automobile on a suspended license and was caught on TV by a local TV station in the Cincinnati area.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports Bengals S Tremain Mack faces a hearing today before Hamilton County Municipal Court for allegedly violating terms of his probation. He was filmed driving a car with a suspended license. A pre-trial hearing scheduled for today in RB Corey Dillon's domestic violence case has been canceled. It was rescheduled until January 22.

Bengals.com reports the probation hearing for kick returner Tremain Mack has been moved back to January. Mack is under scrutiny because of a television report that showed him driving to and from work while his license is under suspension.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports DE John Copeland and LB Takeo Spikes have been downgraded to doubtful by the Cincinnati Bengals. Both players missed practice again yesterday. In other news, S/ST Tremain Mack missed practice due to flu-like symptoms. QB Akili Smith (toe) has been given some good news by a foot specialist. He's expected to be at full speed in 4-6 weeks and should be able to start working out again in late January. QB Jeff Blake feels he should be in the Pro Bowl and would have been if he started every game this year.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports DB Tremain Mack will not miss any of the upcoming season due to the results of the DUI problems. He faces another charge on July 15th in Austin, Texas. He's expected to sign a one-year extension today.

The AP reports the Cincinnati Bengals have reinstated DB Tremain Mack. Mack had been jailed last year because of drunk driving arrests.
