Wed, 14 Jul 1999 12:55:00 -0700 Big Blue Interactive reports that Giants RB Gary Brown remains hospitalized following his motorcycle accident in late June. He has a blood clot on his buttocks and the hospital wants to keep an eye on the condition. Unless he has a setback, Brown is expected to report to camp on time at the end of the month but he could be limited in practice early on. According to the story the biggest issue that Brown faces now could be his conditioning which has been an issue at times in the past.
Wed, 30 Jun 1999 11:25:00 -0700 The Bergen Record reports New York Giants starting RB Gary Brown (concussion/bruises) is in fair condition. According to the NY Times, Brown is expected to be released from Williamsport (PA.) Hospital by today which is also his 30th birthday. He suffered bruises and lacerations along with a concussion, but nothing was broken and no internal injuries occurred. There is no indication that the injury will hamper Brown's return to the field when training camp opens on July 30 ... Giants Spokesman Pat Hanlon said "He has no broken bones or internals injuries ... at this point, he's pretty banged up, but we have every reason to believe he ought to be ready for training camp."

He's still in the hospital after suffering a concussion, bruises and lacerations. "We expect that he'll be released over the next day or so," Giants spokesman Pat Hanlon said. "He has no broken bones or internal injuries." The team expects he'll be at 100% for the start of training camp.
Tue, 29 Jun 1999 08:40:00 -0700 The USA Today reports that Giants RB Gary Brown was injured when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver while Brown was riding his motorcycle. He is in the hospital being treated for a concussion and a gash along his back and he may be released sometime today. At this point it is being determined whether he will be at 100% for the start of Giants training camp.
Mon, 10 May 1999 07:45:00 -0700 Newsday reports that as the Giants open a four-day veterans minicamp today, two Giants veterans who are feeling the pressure to hold onto their jobs are QB Kent Graham and RB Gary Brown. Both feel that many see them as temporary starters until younger players, namely Kerry Collins and rookie Joe Montgomery, are ready to take over. One key to the Giants season could be whether these competitions cause controversies or better performances. Graham says that Collins and himself have worked well together. Brown will use the arrival of his new competition at RB as motivation to prepare for 1999.
