Nationals | Jayson Werth gets night off

Tue, 05 May 2015 18:30:29 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth was given the night off Tuesday, May 5, against the Miami Marlins. He has gotten off to a slow start, and after playing for 11 straight days manager Matt Williams gave him a rest.

Fantasy Tip: With Werth ($3,700; 7.4% of cap) getting a breather it was Michael Taylor ($2,700; 5.4% of cap) making a start. Werth has struggled and is not a great FantasyScore option right now. Give him a while to get untracked before plugging him back in.

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth is not in the lineup Tuesday, May 5, against the Miami Marlins. OF Michael Taylor is hitting eighth.

Fantasy Tip: Werth ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) has been struggling at the plate, so this may be an opportunity to get the veteran a night off and clear his head. Taylor ($2,700, 5.4% of cap) is hitting .271 with a pair of homers and may be a decent lower-cost choice.

Nationals | Jayson Werth sitting out Thursday

Thu, 23 Apr 2015 10:18:54 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth is out of the lineup Thursday, April 23.

Fantasy Tip: Clint Robinson ($1,600, 3.2% of your cap) had a three-hit game balloon his average to .292, but he hasn't done much else. He could be worth a flyer later in the season, but avoid him on FantasyScore against Michael Wacha.

Nationals | Jayson Werth hitless in debut

Mon, 13 Apr 2015 17:51:17 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth (shoulder) was hitless in three at-bats in his season debut against the Boston Red Sox Monday, April 13, after being activated from the disabled list. He had surgery on his right shoulder in January.

Fantasy Tip: Werth ($4,000, 8.0% of cap) admitted that he's not sure how his power stroke will be affected initially upon his return to major league action. Until he gets back into the swing of things against top-level competition, you should try to avoid him at FantasyScore.

Nationals | Jayson Werth returns

Mon, 13 Apr 2015 08:01:01 -0700

Nationals | Jayson Werth set to play full game

Fri, 10 Apr 2015 14:13:00 -0700

Washington Nationals OF Jayson Werth (shoulder) is scheduled to play nine innings Friday, April 10.

Fantasy Tip: Werth is working his way back, and while there is a chance the game could be rained out Friday, there is a plan in place for Werth to up his workload Saturday, April 11, if needed. Werth needs to be stashed in all formats, but FantasyScore players should allow him to shake off some rust when he returns before utilizing him in contests.
