Seattle Mariners OF Jody Gerut has announced his retirement after six major league seasons, according to The Associated Press. He appeared in 574 career games with the Cleveland Indians, Chicago Cubs, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers and had been trying to make the Mariners as a non-roster invitee this spring.
