The Detroit News reports Detroit Lions QB Scott Dreisbach, who played in NFL Europe this year, is just looking for a chance to make it with the Lions this year. He was signed on to be the No. 3 QB last season when Charlie Batch went down with an injury. Now, he’s just hoping for a chance to make the team and see what happens from there.

Tom Kowalski reports for mlive.com many of the free agents that are on the Detroit Lions roster may see action Sunday due to the team's injury situation. If RB James Stewart (ankle) can't play, RB Aveion Cason, who was signed in late November, is expected to get a lot of looks. With rookie QB Mike McMahon (foot) expected to sit again, QB Ty Detmer will get the call with Scott Dreisbach as the No. 2 QB. The injury situation at WR may force the team to sign WR Latef Grim from the practice squad although coach Marty Mornhinweg said he does not anticipate doing so. S Marty Carter may start this week with Lamar Campbell (thigh) doubtful. Also LB Brian Williams will see extensive action with Barrett Green (back) most likely OUT again.

The Washington Post reports the Washington Redskins held tryouts for eight other players earlier today, in addition to the previously reported QBs Jim Druckenmiller, Ron Powlus and John Turman. The others were QBs Scott Dreisbach and Jason McKinley, WRs Rico Cannon, Kevin Coffey, Anthony Collins, Henry Douglas and Dwaune Jones (Richmond), and FS Nick Sorenson. None have been signed, at this point in time.

The San Jose Mercury News' John Ryan reports the Oakland Raiders have withdrawn their tender offer to QB Scott Dreisbach making him an unrestricted free agent. He has not resumed throwing after rotator-cuff surgery. He has had his last two seasons cut short by injuries in pre-seaon.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports the Oakland Raiders will begin sorting out their QB situation this weekend. The team drafted Marques Tuiasosopo in the second round last weekend, and he will be competing with Bobby Hoying and Scott Dreisbach for playing time behind Rich Gannon. The club still has veteran Rodney Peete on the roster as well.

Also, the Raiders tendered offers to restricted free agent OL Toby Myles and exclusive-rights free agents QB Scott Dreisbach, DE Josh Taves and LB Bobby Brooks. Concerning DE Trace Armstrong coming to Oakland, a Raiders source said, "We'd love to sign Armstrong." "We're trying, but nothing's been signed yet."
