Oakland Raiders TE O.J. Santiago received his most substantial playing time of the season Sunday, Nov. 16, against the Minnesota Vikings and caught two passes for a team-high 53 yards. Santiago is the best blocker of Oakland's three tight ends (TEs Teyo Johnson and Doug Jolley are the others) and the Raiders have newfound emphasis on the running game, which should mean more playing time. Raiders head coach Bill Callahan said the team would continue to use all three, based on the opposition and Oakland's game plan.

The reason Santiago wasn't activated may have more to do with the expanding role of TE Teyo Johnson into the Oakland offensive attack than his injured hamstring.

The Star Tribune reports the Minnesota Vikings have agreed to terms with free agent TE O.J. Santiago. Santiago is expected to sign a one-year contract for close to the veteran's minimum of $525,000. He will compete for a backup TE role with the team. Santiago is expected to battle Johnny McWilliams, Matt Cercone and Jeff Kostrewa for the No. 4 spot.

As an update to an ongoing story, the AP reports the arrest warrant for Cleveland Browns TE O.J. Santiago has been changed to a summons by Pittsburgh police. A warrant had been issued for misdemeanor marijuana possession because police initially could not find an address for Santiago. However, the warrant was changed to a summons after Santiago's lawyer offered to have the paperwork sent to him.
