Fifteen modern-day finalists for the Pro Football Hall of Fame were announced Saturday, Jan. 7, and they are joined by two senior nominees. A selection committee in Indianapolis will meet in Indianapolis Feb. 4 to determine the 2012 Hall of Fame class. Michael Felger reports for the Boston Herald that LB Bill Romanowski of the Oakland Raiders will be playing in his fifth Super Bowl. Romanowski’s teams have won all of those appearances, giving him four rings. If Oakland wins, Romanowski will become only the second player in NFL history besides Charles Haley to win five Super Bowls.

The Detroit Free Press reports Detroit Lions rookie DE Kalimba Edwards is looking to put on some weight. He said he has a hard time keeping weight on. The Lions hope he can add 10 to 12 pounds, but defensive line coach Charles Haley said they're not going to set a weight for him. Edwards is scheduled to compete for the starting job at right defensive end.
